Ready to learn

At Glenroy College, being ready to learn means arriving prepared, organised and focused each day. We help students build routines that support independence, pride and success in their learning.

A 'Ready to learn' pack can be purchased from the general office, with the supplies your child needs to be ready to learn in the classroom.

Compass

At Glenroy College, Compass is our main online platform for communication and learning. Both students and families use Compass daily to stay connected and informed about school life.

Through Compass, families can:

  • View attendance, timetables, and daily notices
  • Access progress and semester reports, and assessment feedback
  • Approve excursions and other school events
  • Book Parent–Teacher Conferences
  • Receive important updates and messages from the College

We strongly recommend that all parents and carers download the Compass app to their device and ensure notifications are enabled.

Students access Compass each day to check their class schedule, learning tasks, and school announcements.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

All students are required to bring a reliable laptop as part of our BYOD program, enabling access to digital resources and learning tools.

Recommended device are outlined on our college website; however , provided it meets the College’s minimum specifications.

Technical support is available onsite, and financing options can be arranged through Compass to ensure all students can participate fully in digital learning.

Essential Equipment and Organisation

Students are expected to come to class ready with:

  • Laptop and charger
  • Pencil case with essential stationery
  • Exercise books
  • Subject-specific items such as a calculator for Maths or a dictionary for English

Our Ready to Learn Stationery Pack is available through the general office, providing all required stationery in one bundle.

The Booklist contains the list of resources students will need for each of their subjects. This is available on our website or at the general office.

Each student is also allocated a locker to store personal items and learning materials securely.
