The Certificate III in Business provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills to engage in a variety of business service roles. Students learn to perform a range of tasks using business, technology and technical skills to support work in workplace teams. They develop the skills to engage effectively with colleagues and supervisors, contribute to team decisions and problem-solving, develop professional workplace documents and work to continuously evaluate and improve their own performance.

Study methods

Assessments

Students are assessed against specific criteria for each unit of study. The course is mainly theory-based with learning and assessments taking the format of short-answer, group projects, online learning, case studies and self-paced learning.

Work Placement

Work Placement can be undertaken to complement a student’s learning in this course but is not a compulsory component.

Credit in VCE/VCE VM

Recognition of up to two VCE VET units at Units 1 and 2 level and a non-scored VCE VET Unit 3–4 sequence ATAR contribution - Students will be eligible for a 10% increment

Upon satisfactory completion of all units of this course, a student may attain a national qualification

Equipment and dress requirements

Students are required to bring a laptop to each class to complete and access work on the online learning platform

Neat casual (no singlets/cropped tops, no rips in pants) or your school uniform can be worn.

Closed-toe shoes must be worn to adhere to work safety requirements.
